Description
It was lovingly converted into luxury apartments between 1998 and 2000. It resides beside the 18th century church of St Andrew by the Green. Charles Rennie Mackintosh's handwriting appears on one of the original drawings for the building showing his early involvement in building design in Glasgow.
The apartment has been furnished to a high standard and comprises 3 bedrooms, a lounge/dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms.
The bedrooms are arranged as follows: Master Bedroom: Double bed with additional single sofa bed. Second Bedroom: Two single beds. Third Bedroom: Double bed. There is also a cot for a small child. The apartment can therefore sleep 7 people and a baby.
There are two contemporary bathrooms. The first has a bath with shower over, WC and basin and the second has a shower cubical, WC and Basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including pantry items which are free for you to use. There is also a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The hallway houses a pulley up hanging rail for drying clothes to keep them out of the way.
The apartment has full central heating, free Wi-Fi, a TV with free view channels, a DVD player with DVDs, a CD player with radio and Auxiliary cable for attaching your own i-Pod. There are also books and games for all ages. The walls are thick sandstone and as such hold heat well inside the apartment.
Also in the lounge you have two large comfy sofas and a dining table for 6 guests with a highchair. There is also a bath bath and sink step for children plus children's knives, forks, plates, bowls and cups.
To the rear of the building you also have your own private parking space for the apartment with locking bar making it easy to come and go as you please and avoid the expensive private parking for this area.
The lounge and master bedroom have double height feature windows overlooking the park which are characteristic of the era in Glasgow. And there are beautiful tall ceilings throughout the apartment with a feature pillar and beam in the lounge. The building is iconic in Glasgow.
Glasgow Green is the main park for Glasgow City which was originally established in the 15th century and is the oldest park in Glasgow. It is used for the major events in Glasgow such as the Highland Games, Festivals and major music concerts etc. The park draws a wide audience and Glagsow Tour buses route through the park to showcase the People's Palace and an ornate terracotta fountain which is the largest and best example of its kind in the world. The People's Palace houses botanical and tropical plants and is free to enter. There is also a popular café inside.
There is also a German beer hall on Glasgow Green which brews on-site.
There is a great children's play area opposite the apartment on Glasgow Green and further along the park there is another Child's Play Village.
From the apartment it's just a short walk around the corner to St Andrews Square and then, a further 150 meters along (2 min walk), you are at the vibrant Merchant City with its mixture of trendy and refined bars and restaurants and theatre. And if you want to experience a real old fashioned Glasgow pub then there are plenty to visit within 200 meters of the apartment. The famous Scotia Bar is 300 meters away - don't be put off by the exterior, it's worth a visit.
It's a 5 min walk to the start of the main shopping area in Glasgow (Argyle Street) and the recently renovated St.Enoch shopping centre. You can walk to the Royal Concert Hall in 15 mins. To reach the West End there is an easy underground system you can use. For the trains you are within easy walking distance to Queen St Station on George Square and Central Station. A taxi to the apartment from either station will cost around £ 4.50.
This is a great apartment in a great central location in Glasgow City Centre.

Great location, warm, clean, comfortable, well-equipped, good wi-fi. Kids loved playpark opposite, Netflix and games. Coffee, tea etc provided. We had two small kids with us so table in lounge with loose glass top worried us. Couple other maintenance issues but nothing major.
Lovely apartment, all comforts and really great location to explore Glasgow.
Apartment was bright and spacious with lots of room for all our party. we were in Glasgow for a swimming competition so the kitchen and dining area were very useful. the parking space could be better sign posted as we did have some confusion locating which space we could use, however , some friendly locals came to our assistance. Beds are comfy and having 2 bathrooms was really helpful getting everyone ready and out every morning.
The location was ideal for us. We were able to walk to the wedding and the park across the street has something for everyone.
We loved the apartment - perfect placement, comfy beds and a Nice apartment. Would definetely live here again.
We stayed 4 nights, and the apartment was perfect for our party of five people. It's a great location-walkable to most everything-and the apartment contained all that we needed for the stay.
It's a nice and cozy apartment right in front of the Glasgow green park, with a nice playground for kids. It's not to fare from the city center (20m walk or with the Simplicity bus 2 10m). And enough space for 6 people (including one child).

The location was very good for our needs as joggers near the park. Also within walking distance of the city center and train station. Original pull-up clothesline.

The location is great! The kitchen is super well equipped - it even has some of the things that are necessary for a short stay: salt, olive oil, tea,... Telecommunications work wonderfully (internet and TV) Communication from/with the hosts started as soon as the reservation has been made.
The location was excellent a park across the road for the grandkids lovely apartment self contained with all our needs made our visit from Australia memorable Easy access to Glasgow centrals wide range of shops so we spent a lot on souvenirs.
It was clean warm and comfortable had all we needed for our stay. Entrance didn't look great.
