Quinta da Barreira - Superb 5 bedroom Villa with Private Pool within Vineyard Near Sintra, Portugal

 

La maison est parfaite. Très grande, tre bien équipé, très bien situé. Site charmeur a 45 minutes de lisbonne près des autoroutes et villages avec toutes les commoditées. Seul point négatif le chauffage ne fonctionne pas. Nous étions au mois d'avril et les nuits étaient froides et la maison reste très humide. Si vous louer cette maison assurez-vous que le chauffage fonctionne. Mais le reste est parfait.

 

Nous étions 7 amis qui se retrouvaient à l'occasion d'un mariage et nous nous sommes régalés! La maison est superbe, une épicerie est à 5 minutes en voiture, il y a beaucoup de vaisselle, chaque couple avait sa salle de bain. A refaire encore et encore!

We were 7 friends who met up for a wedding and we had a great time! The house is superb, a grocery store is a 5-minute drive away, there are plenty of dishes, each couple had their own bathroom. To do again and again!

Très jolie maison, vastes espaces intérieurs et beau jardin ! idéal pour 10 personnes au niveau du nombre de chambres et de salle de bain. bons équipements au niveau vaisselle, lave linge, lave vaisselle.... piscine impeccable, entretenue tôt le matin par l'hôte. Néanmoins, pour 10 personnes, il manque quelques transat au bord de la piscine et la poubelle de la cuisine pourrait être plus grande. Petit souci au niveau électrique (manque de puissance) et d'humidité dans les placards de cuisine. Sinon, parfaite communication avec l'hôte, à tout moment du séjour. Dans l'ensemble, un bon séjour.

Very nice house, large interior spaces and beautiful garden! ideal for 10 people in terms of the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. good equipment in terms of dishes, washing machine, dishwasher .... impeccable swimming pool, maintained early in the morning by the host. However, for 10 people, there are a few deckchairs missing by the pool and the kitchen trash can could be bigger. small problem with the electrical (lack of power) and humidity in the kitchen cupboards. Otherwise, perfect communication with the host, at any time of the stay. Overall, a good stay.

Beautiful villa in a vineyard which produces wonderful wine...check. Wonderful fresh water private swimming pool.....check. Only an hour from Lisbon and Sintra....check. You cannot but help feel like you are living la dolce vita here. I would recommend a tour of the vineyard and try some of the great wine whilst there. Yes, it is a bit hard to find but then it is set in the beautiful rolling countryside. But the nearest town, Torres Vedras, is only about 20 minutes away and has restaurants and supermarkets. But with such a beautiful place you will want to eat in. The company that runs it is very good and helpful as are the people in the vineyard. The best advice I can give is to dive in and indulge.

I stayed at the villa in September with my wife and another couple (our good friends). I would recommend it to anyone. If is a great villa in a lovely part of Portugal. The villa has all mod cons (although the wifi range is slightly limited) and it is very comfortable there day to day. There us a great outdoor barbeque, and vast outdoor seating space. Inside there us a substantial kitchen, with every appliance you'd expect. The rooms are all big and comfortable, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all spotless. The villa is a short drive fro the town of Torres Vedras, which has various shops, restaurants and bars to keep you entertained and also a few great supermarkets (it also has one of the best off licenses I've ever seen). Lisbon is only 40lm away and can be reached with a €60 taxi journey. The pool is a great size, although very cold this time of year! The staff at the vineyard are extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Thus villa would've suitable for groups of friends or families looking to have a retreat away from the traditional tourist areas.

9 of us (adults) stayed at Quinta de Barreira in early October, and it couldn't have been better. The house is beautiful. The downstairs has a nice kitchen, large dining room (the table seats at least 14) and a wonderful living room with leather furniture. Upstairs are 5 bedrooms, all of good size, and 4 baths. The master bedroom suite is spectacular, with a huge en suite marble bath and a balcony. The outdoor space is especially nice. There is a small courtyard off the living room with a table and chairs, a wide area in front of the garage with lime trees and a beautiful pool. The grounds are maintained daily and are beautiful. The property is in a vineyard, and for us that was an added treat. The vineyards are visible as you drive up and you can visit the cave, which are behind the house. The vineyard office is next to the house, which makes it extra convenient to buy their excellent wines. The owner is gracious and very helpful. He arranged a wonderful cook for our group who made 4 amazing meals for us. He also recommended some places to go including a wonderful restaurant in the ocean side town of Iriceira. The house is located in a rolling wine growing region about 30 km north of Lisbon. There is not much nearby, but the city of Torres Vedras is about 15 minutes away and has groceries and other stores. The location is ideal for day trips. We went to Sintra, Obidos and Tomar, each in less than 75 minutes. Central Lisbon is only 30 minutes away. We have had the chance to stay in rentals in Europe and the US a number of times and would rate Quinta da Barreira as our favorite.
