Slidebox 1

Standing prominently on Rua Doutor Ruy Rosa, the Cine-Teatro da Nazaré is a cherished cultural landmark that has evolved alongside the town's rich history. Originally inaugurated on August 1, 1930, this venue has transitioned from a traditional theater to a modern hub for cinema, music, dance, and theatrical performances, reflecting Nazaré's enduring commitment to the arts.

A Testament to Cultural Resilience

The origins of the Cine-Teatro da Nazaré trace back to the Teatro Circo, inaugurated on August 15, 1925. Tragically, a fire on October 1 of the same year left the structure in ruins. In 1930, Frederico Pereira, Administrator of the Casa da Nazaré, acquired and restored the remnants, leading to the birth of the current Cine-Teatro da Nazaré, affectionately known among locals as the "Casino." The venue was inaugurated on August 1, 1930, and has since undergone various transformations, including a significant remodel in 2001, reopening as a contemporary performance space with a seating capacity of 447.
