DIRECTIONS FROM LISBON AIRPORT

NOTE:  You will come across some road tolls. You must stop at them all!  Do not go through the green lane as this is for cars that have pre-paid. When you get to the first one just touch the silver button and a card will come out. Keep that card until you get to the next one where you will need to stop again and pay the attendant.

- Leave the airport terminal and get on the E1 from Av. de Berlin (90 0m)

- Merge onto E1 (4.4 kms)

- Continue onto 2ª Circular (3.6 kms)

- Continue onto A37 (15.5 kms)

- Take the exit onto A16 toward Sintra Centro/Mafra/Ericeira (2.8 kms)

- Take exit 8 toward Sintra Centro/Colares (350 m)

- Keep left (800 m)

- At the roundabout Dr. Eduardo Lacerda Tavares, continue straight onto Av. Mário Firmino Miguel (550 m)

- At the roundabout, continue straight onto Av. Dr. Desidério Cambournac/N249 (450 m) * Continue to follow N249

CHECK-IN  

You can check-in after 17:00. 

If other guests are using the villa on the day that you arrive, you can check-in after 17:00. If no other guests have used the villa on the day that you arrive you can access the villa at an earlier time. You will need to confirm an early arrival with the property managers a couple of days before you are scheduled to arrive at the property.

All arrivals and departures outside of normal hours must be agreed in advance with the property managers. If a late arrival has been agreed with you (after 7PM), please be aware that there is a €25 fee to be paid to the property manager.

The property managers will meet you at the property.

YOUR DEPARTURE  

If nobody else is due to use the villa on the day that you arrive, your departure can maybe be at another time. If other guests are due to use the villa you will need to leave the villa by 10:00 am.

Please agree any late departure with the property managers a day before you are scheduled to leave the property. Before leaving the villa, please:

  • Place the keys on the dining table.
  • Clean your dishes and remove waste from the property.
  • Close all windows and doors.
  • Turn off all lights, and TV
  • Double check to confirm you don't leave any personal belongings behind

 

INSIDE THE VILLA

The villa should be clean with clean bedding on the beds and clean towels in the cupboards.

If you find anything not clean, please tell the property managers, as soon as possible, when you arrive

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Fuse Box
If you should happen to experience a power outage in a room due to a blown fuse, please check the fuse box located in the garage.

      

Safety Equipment
Please ensure that you become familiar with where the fire extinguisher, fire blanket and First-Aid kit are located, in case needed.

 

Water, Gas Heating
The boiler, gas and water supply should all be switched on prior to your arrival. If you have any problems, call the agents and they will be able to assist you. The tap water is safe to drink however all supermarkets stock bottled water if this is your preference. In the unlikely event that you have a water or gas leak please turn these off at the mains and ring the agents immediately (also open the windows in the case of a gas leak).

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Bins
We respectfully ask that you keep the property free from excess refuse. Please dispose of your refuse on a regular basis so  that it does not attract insects. In Portugal, there are large bins on the street for disposal of general household waste. For recycling, the yellow containers that you see on the streets are for plastic and metal, the blue containers are for paper and cardboard and the green containers are for glass. The nearest general waste bins are, in from of the property, across the street.  To find the nearest recycling bins to the property, exit the property and drive left for about 400 meters. At the end of the road, intersection, turn left and drive about 200 meters. The bins recycling bins should be on your right.

 

Breakages
We understand if everyday items such as glasses, plates etc., may get accidentally broken. Please leave a note detailing any broken items so that they can be replaced for the next guest.

 

Door & Locks
Use the kitchen backdoor as your main entrance and exit point from the house.

Guests will be provided with keys to open the front gate of the property and of the house.

Never leave a key in the lock on the inside of the door; If a key is left in the lock on the inside of the front door, the other key will not be able to unlock the door from the outside of the door.

When going out for long periods of time, please make sure you secure the villa by locking doors and windows.

 

Drains
To ensure that the drains do not become blocked, please dispose of nappies, sanitary towels and cleaning wipes with  the general  household waste.

 

Parking
You have a very spacious drive way where you can park up to 3 cars.

 

Smoking
The property is strictly NON-SMOKING and we ask our guests to respect this policy. Please feel free to smoke outside, but please be responsible when disposing of cigarette ends; do not through them on the floor. Also, take care when smoking near open windows. Due to the extra cleaning and ventilation required, there is a 100€ charge for smoking in the house.

 

Spillages
Please  be quick to clean up any spillages to help prevent damage.

 

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is for your exclusive use as guests of the villa.

The pool is maintained and cleaned on a weekly basis, on Thursdays. This may take about 20 minutes, and all guests must vacate the pool area during the scheduled maintenance.

The coast of Portugal has high night-time humidity; we recommend you stow away the cushions inside the property, each night so they are dry enough to enjoy the following day.

Pool Safety:

  • The pool has a minimum depth of 1.05m,  and a maximum depth of 2.15m
  • Use of the pool is at your own risk.
  • Please supervise children at all times. Do not rely on floatation devices to keep them safe!
  • Avoid going inside the house when dripping wet as this could result in a personal safety hazard, due to slippery conditions. Please, make sure you dry yourself enough, to go inside the property.
  • Please do not dive from the side of the pool or the balcony.
