NOTE: You will come across some road tolls. You must stop at them all!  Do not go through the green lane as this is for cars that have pre-paid. When you get to the first one just touch the silver button and a card will come out. Keep that card until you get to the next one where you will need to stop again and pay the attendant. You will need just approximately 7 Euros to get to São Martinho do Porto.

If you get lost in Lisbon

If you get lost and can't see any signs for the A8 OESTE then follow signs to LEIRIA or LOURES as this is in the right direction and should get you onto the A8 OESTE.

- ... Once on the A8 you continue to follow it for about 40 minutes.

- At Junction 20 you leave the A8.

- Take a right at the roundabout in the direction of Tornada.

- After a few kms, take a left to follow the sign to Salir do Porto.

- You will pass through the town of Chao Parada.

- Then continue following the road until you come to the roundabout.

- You are now in Salir do Porto.

- Do a U-turn at the roundabout and take the first left within 100 m and then turn right on the next right turn.

- The villa is on the right-hand side, number 27.

Make sure you become familiarised where the fire extinguisher, fire blanket and First-Aid kit are located, in case you need them.

Water, Gas & Heating
The boiler, gas and water supply should all be switched on prior to your arrival. If you have any problems, call the agents and they will be able to assist you. The tap water is safe to drink however all supermarkets stock bottled water if this is your preference. In the unlikely event that you have a water or gas leak please turn these off at the mains and ring the agents immediately (also open the windows in the case of a gas leak).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Bins
We respectfully ask that you keep the  villa free from excess refuse.  Please dispose of your refuse on a regular basis so  that it does not attract insects.  In Portugal, there are large bins on the street for disposal of general household waste.  For recycling, the yellow containers that you see on the streets are for plastic and metal, the blue containers are for  paper and cardboard andthe green containers are for glass. Waste can be disposed of in the large green bins located outside of the villa.

Breakages
We understand if everyday items such as glasses, plates etc., may get accidentally broken. Please leave a note detailing any broken items so that they can be replaced for the next guest.

Cooker
There is a three-step process to turn on the hob. 1) touch the Lock/Unlock icon to unlock the hob, 2) touch the icon indicating the burner position, 3) use the +/-icons to adjust the temperature.

Dishwasher
There is enough dishwasher soap, Sal, and Rinse Aid provided for the duration of your stay. If you see the "Sal" or "Rinse" indicators on the dishwasher, please re-fill prior to using. There is no trick to opening the dishwasher -like the sliding doors, give it a yank if it sticks when you try to open it.

Door & Locks
The front door will lock behind you and can even blow shut in the wind and lock you out of the house. The back door in the kitchen locks and unlocks with the key which is on the counter next to the door; it will never lock on its own. The sliding doors throughout the house also do not lock on their own and can only be locked from the inside. Guests will be provided 2 keys to the front door. Never leave a key in the lock on the inside ofthe door; If a key is left in the lock on the inside of the front door, the other key will not be able to unlock the door from the outside of the door.
When using any balconies pleasebe careful to make sure any catches are off if you want to shut sliding doors behind you to avoid locking yourself out. Also, we recommend you leave any shutters closed in the day if you are out so the villa remains secure and cool.

Drains
To ensure that the drains do not become blocked, please dispose of nappies, sanitary towels and cleaning wipes with  the general  household waste.

Parking
Normally there are plenty of parking spaces on the side of the road in front of the property.

Shutters
There are shutters on all windows. We recommend you leave these shut in the day if you are out so the apartment remains secure and cool.

Smoking
The property is strictly NON-SMOKING and we ask our guests to respect this policy. Please feel free to smoke outside, but please be responsible when disposing of cigarette ends. Also, take care when smoking near open windows. Due to the extra cleaning and ventilation required, there is a 100€ charge for smoking in the house.

Spillages
Please  be quick to clean up any spillages to help prevent damage.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is directly out the back door.

It is for your exclusive use as guests of the villa. The pool is heated at 28 degrees Celsius. We kindly ask you to not do any adjustments on the temperature. Please keep the pool covered when not in use and especially at night to keep the temperature at a constant 28 degrees.

The pool is maintained and cleaned every Friday. This takes about 20 minutes and all guests must vacate the pool area during the scheduled maintenance.

If the patio chair cushions are not on the chairs when you arrive, you will find them in the kitchen cupboard closest to the back door. The Silver Coast of Portugal has high night-time humidity; we recommend you stow the cushions each night so they are dry enough to enjoy the following day.

The pool has a light that creates a lovely night time glow for night swimming. The switch for this is to the right of the kitchen door (the light is entirely invisible during the bright daylight sun, so don't forget to turn it off before bed).

Pool Safety:

  • Use of the pool is at your own risk.
  • Please supervise children at all times. Do not rely on floatation devices to keep children safe.
  • The decking around the pool gets hot enough in the summer sun to burn feet so sandals are recommended.
  • It is prohibited to use sharp or glass objects in the pool area
  • Rushing onto the tile floor of the house with wet feet is treacherous; it is safest to use the door in the kitchen where there is an indoor and outdoor rug.
  • Please do not dive from the side of the pool.
  • There is a shallow end and a deep end to the pool.

Whole House Vacuum
There is a lever on the floor beneath the kitchen sink which turns on the vacuum for the kitchen. You are not required to use the vacuum, but it is mentioned because if you accidently hit this lever with your foot, you will be startled to hear a loud noise.

Wi-Fi
The property has Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and Security Code is found on the bottom of the router next to the TV.
There is a booster to provide equally strong wifi upstairs. When initially using Wi-Fiupstairs, you will need to log in upstairs using the upstairs network ID with the same password as downstairs. The Wi-Finame upstairs is the same name as downstairs, except that it is followed by "-rep". If you move your computer between downstairs and upstairs, you may need to switch the internet accordingly, if it does not happen automatically on your device.
