To Eat in Foz Do Arelho, Portugal
There are a surprising number of eateries in this village of under 1,500 inhabitants. The most highly concentrated stretch of restaurants are, not surprisingly, found along the beachfront. Restaurante Europa always has a bustling vibe but never seems too busy to invite more tables to join in the fun. They are especially popular for their grilled fresh fish but also have steaks, salads, and soups on offer. For quieter options, the town center of Foz do Arelho is a leisurely 10 to 15 minute walk from the waterfront promenade. Wander the cobbled streets and see what speaks to you or head straight for Tibino Casa de Petiscos. The amazing thing about Tibino is that it is a great place for a casual lunch after a day at the beach, or a special occasion celebration. The food and atmosphere somehow rise up to meet patrons in any and every way. Bom Apetite!
